The Jaguar XFR - together with the Jaguar XKR - gets a UK début at MotorExpo 2009 in June
The XFR and the XKR will both début at the London MotorExpo 2009, which takes place in Canary Wharf from 8-14 June. Which is probably the best venue Jaguar could come up with (apart from perhaps Salon Prive or the Top Gear Show) as we don’t have a Motor Show any more. Still, the plus is that MotorExpo is a free entry event, which helps, and Jaguar are expecting around 350,000 visitors, which is not too shoddy.
A SUBMERGED CAR that was abandoned because of flooding on the Somerset Levels and put on eBay has sold for more than £100,000. The unnamed bidder paid £101,100 on the online auction site to buy the Seat Toledo after it was put up for sale by owner Hubert Zajaczkowski, 21. Mr Zajaczkowski planned to donate the cash to a charity helping the victims of flooding in Somerset.
If you thought the Volkswagen Golf R400 concept displayed at the Beijing auto show seemed suspiciously like a real product -- you know, one you'll someday be able to buy rather than something trotted out to tease the world's enthusiasts -- you were on to something.
